Excellence in dealing with plants and landscapes is at
JOSEF PÖTTER family tradition.
The company JOSEF PÖTTER was founded in 1935 by Josef Pötter sen. and his wife Antonia, who significantly guided the business and family through the turmoil of war.
Led by Josef Pötter Jr. and his younger brother Ludger, the parents' small business developed into a medium-sized company in the 1960s and 1970s.
Around 50 employees worked in garden, landscape, and sports field construction in the mid-80s. In 1986, the brothers decided to apply their combined expertise to golf course construction. Their very first project was a resounding success: the company built a new 18-hole golf course for the Ahaus Golf and Country Club – creating one of the most beautiful golf courses in Germany.
JOSEF PÖTTER GOLF will be involved in numerous golf projects in the coming years, attracting attention throughout Germany.
In 2009, Matthias Pötter joined the company as a shareholder and managing director and oversaw the modernization of the company.
He has been the sole shareholder since 2016.
Also in 2018, the company ISD (Irrigation Services Deutschland), a specialist in planning, construction and service of automatic irrigation systems on golf courses, was acquired.
In 2013, Philipp Bartels was appointed managing director alongside Matthias Pötter. He had previously worked for the company since 2008, initially as a project manager.
Under this leadership, the third-generation family business has positioned itself in 4 areas of expertise:
JOSEF PÖTTER GOLF
JOSEF PÖTTER IRRIGATION SYSTEMS / ISD
JOSEF PÖTTER LANDSCAPING
JOSEF PÖTTER GARDENER OF EDEN
